Children's Beds
Buying a child's bed is an important decision, there are many things to consider from the height from the floor to what sort of mattress you should pair with it. Our carefully selected range offers a collection of starter beds, mid sleepers with practical storage and bunk beds in a variety of finishes.
Mattresses need to be carefully considered so we sell these separately - choose a standard single size to match with most of our children's beds but call our team to double check its suitable for taller frames as there is a safety limit when choosing the depth.
Choosing the right mattress
Children need as much support from a mattress as adults and it's vital as they develop their bones that a mattress isn't too firm and can support them as they grow. We'd recommend soft to medium firmness options. All our mattresses are built to last and considering your child will most likely be using this mattress for over ten years, investing in a quality option will mean it lasts. Starter beds
It's an exciting time for your child as they prepare to move into their first big bed. We have some beautiful first bed options which are ideal for the first move. Ideally, you'll choose a full size single and try to select as low to the ground as possible. You can also fit side bars to the mattress to stop your little ones rolling out of bed and feel safe. As they grow, a normal height bed frame or divan is more appropriate. We stock quality divan bases with practical storage solutions which are custom made to sit low to the ground or sturdy bedstead frames which also include the headboard and look great in a child's bedroom setting.
Occasional visitors
It can be tricky to know what's suitable for sleepovers or occasional visitors, a standard guest bed is usually a great option if you need extra space and want to store half the bed away to utilise a smaller room or office. Guest beds are versatile as the under bed can also be kept close to the ground for younger children to use. Bunk beds are a popular option too for children sharing a bedroom.
